Remote DCFC Reliability and Downtime Detection Tool

PI: Dr. Vaishnavi Karanam and Dr. Gil Tal

The purpose of this project is to study the reliability of approximately thirty-seven public Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) charging facilities owned and operated by Caltrans, and develop a charging downtime detection tool to identify issues in near real-time. Charger reliability will be critical for the successful transition to electric transportation and realizing the maximum potential emissions benefits from electrification.  The charger downtime detection tool will be developed based on historical time s_ based data, specific to each charger location.
