The International EV Policy and Research Network is an interdisciplinary research network whose members conduct research and work on policy issues related to the transition to electric mobility, with a particular focus on the interactions between technology, consumers, infrastructure, and policy. The network brings together global scholars to better understand how electric vehicles (EVs) are adopted, used, and integrated into energy and transportation systems, and how this transition can be accelerated in an equitable and sustainable manner.

The scope of the network encompasses empirical, methodological, theoretical, and policy contributions that examine the drivers, barriers, and impacts of electrified transportation across diverse geographic and socio-economic contexts.

Network members primarily focus on the following themes:

  • Consumer Behavior and Technology Adoption
  • Charging Infrastructure, Energy Systems, and Integration
  • Policy, Markets, and Transition Dynamics
  • Supply chains and Supply Side Issues for Vehicles and Batteries
  • Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion
  • Environmental and System Impacts including of vehicles and batteries
  • Methods, Data, and Interdisciplinary Approaches

The network welcomes those focused on these areas conducting various types of research, including:

  • Empirical research (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Policy analyses and evaluation studies
  • Methodological and theoretical advances
  • Comparative and international studies
  • Interdisciplinary and systems-focused research

The aim of the International EV Research Network is to foster collaboration, coordination, and knowledge exchange among researchers, policymakers, and practitioners working on electric mobility. The network seeks to connect interdisciplinary and international expertise, establish collaborative research efforts, and advance shared understanding of electric vehicle adoption, use, and impacts across diverse contexts.
