Coordinated by the Electric Vehicle Research Center, UC Davis

The International EV Policy & Research Network was originally founded as the International EV Policy Council by Tom Turrentine in 2016. The group consisted of a small number of researchers, all focused on electric vehicles and policy at a time when EV research was just beginning to gain momentum. Since 2016, the council has met in workshops, collaborated on research, drafted policy briefs and literature reviews, and advised policymakers.

In 2025, the council began transitioning to the International EV Policy & Research Network with the goal of expanding participation to include the now much larger community of EV researchers, while maintaining the strong engagement and leadership of the original council members. The new network will continue to support collaboration, knowledge exchange, and policy-relevant research, and will create additional opportunities to share data, methods, findings, and expertise across institutions and disciplines.

The network is open to anyone working in policy and research related to electric vehicles, including academic researchers, students, policymakers, and industry experts. Membership is free and provides opportunities to participate in workshops and collaborate on research. We welcome new members from around the world who are interested in sharing knowledge, learning from others, and contributing to the network’s ongoing work.

You can join the mailing list to keep up to date with future events and announcements.
