Principle Investigator: Gil Tal
Project Funder: California Department of Transportation (CalTrans)
The purpose of this project is to study the implantation, maintenance, and utilization of approximately thirty-seven public Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) charging facilities, each with a varying number of charging units, that will be located within the state highway right of way and other Caltrans owned locations and projects. These locations have been programmed into the State Highway Operation and Protection Plan (SHOPP). This project will help California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in learning from the installation and utilization of the chargers in order to optimize the impact of the current locations, study the cost and benefits of those locations and direct future growth of the charging infrastructure.
